CONCENTRATION BY DISTRACTION

CONCENTRATION BY DISTRACTION Traditionally a quiet, tranquil and peaceful environment is required to find real concentration.

But that is not going to be the situation on a tennis court, so we have a very different approach to finding the concentration.

By making the situation even more distracting, the brain will either fail totally in its task. Or it will focus extremely well, blanking out the distractions.

One way to do this is to have a friend, coach or partner throw you two balls. They should instruct you to hit a specific ball. Maybe a coloured one, or older one or simply the left or the right one.

As you do this, the other ball will almost disappear, and any other thoughts and distractions that were preventing real focus will disappear with the distracting ball.
