When adding contents to our website, we don't want the public to see how things go on the site for the time. We want it to be private to only admins, we want only admins to be able to access the site. At the same time we don't want these visitors to go without coming back again. So we need something that would make them understand the site is under maintenance so they don't feel disappointed and even decide not to visit the site again when next someone invites them. Assuming a visitor which was invited to your site visits the site and what pops up is something like, "This IP address can't be found" or things like "connection failed" or the domain registrar's website showing up and telling the visitor "if this is your domain, put to work". It couldn't be any more boring and disappointing for your visitors. For these reasons, we employ tools that would create a good user feel. So when a visitor is told to come back later that the site is currently under maintenance or construction, they understand and still re-visit the site again in the future.
