The Era of the Individual

Today, an individual in 2020 is more powerful than a 100-person organization from 1990. Today, one person can change the trajectory of an entire organization, and even an industry.

There are so many examples of innovators, both inside and outside organizations, that are rewriting the rules in their respective fields:

- Countless intrapreneurs with break-out career moves - as they built innovations inside their own companies
- Jessica Yellin changing how news is delivered
- Ryan Hoover launching Product Hunt from a basic email list
- Lebron James sparking the Player Empowerment Era in the NBA
- Lil Nas X grabbing the longest running #1 Billboard Song of all-time by buying a beat for $30 of a sharing platform, and using TikTok to bring it to the masses.
- The list goes one: Mary Meeker (Internet Trends), Moiz Ali (Native), Ben Thompson (Stratechery), Naval Ravikant
(AngelList), etc.

We’re living in the Era of the Individual.
