How to get everywhere in the Galaxy in a 'short' time!

Dear World,
Our Solar System is certainly a never ending destination for discovery, but when we look up in the sky, we see the stars. And we want to go there, which is understandable. Even more with the recent discoveries of Exoplanets. We know now they are out there, waiting. There are ways we could go, but we would have to rethink a few preconceptions about space travel.
