BJP LIVE : Home Minister Amit Shah Addresses Public Meeting in Bhubaneswar, Odisha : 28-02-2020 Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a rally at the Janata Maidan here on Friday in support of the amended Citizenship Act, days after parts of Delhi witnessed widespread violence over the the contentious law. Shah will attend the rally after chairing a meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council (EZC) here which will be attended by four chief ministers, including Mamata Banerjee who is a bitter critic of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), the National Population Register (NPR) as well as any nationwide National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The council meeting will be held at the Lok Seva Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar, in which chief ministers of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha along with senior state officers will participate. A team of senior officers from the Home Ministry too will be present.
Apart from international issues, discussions will be held on different central developmental plans and programmes, particularly pertaining to the Railways, infrastructure related to disaster management, royalty on coal production, funds to panchayats, Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme, database of Aadhaar Cards, and telecom and Internet quality.
