Wuhan CPC Secretary says he's ashamed for not responding more swiftly to coronavirus outbreak 우한 당서기 "양심의 가책 느껴…빠른 결정했어야" 뒤늦은 후회

As the coronavirus continues to spread around the world and claim more lives, Wuhan City's Chinese Communist Party chief has expressed regret for not responding to the outbreak more quickly.
In an interview with China's state-run CCTV on Friday, Ma Guoqiang said the city should have taken measures sooner to contain it, adding that the global impact would have been less pronounced, if countermeasures had been implemented earlier.
He said the rapid spread of the coronavirus is partly due to the city's indecisiveness, admitting that he feels ashamed of himself.
Ma's remarks come amid growing criticism of the city's leadership for not disclosing the outbreak in a timely manner.
