When you play a tennis match you are bound to make mistakes. They are part of tennis and are unavoidable. You can, however, minimize them by understanding what causes you to make errors. These are the four ways players of all levels commit errors. 1. Technique

At the recreational level players are plagued by all four of these causes, however improper technique and footwork are by far the biggest reasons why players commit mistakes. At the high level, the vast majority of players possess good technique and footwork and their errors usually stem from poor shot selection and a weak mental game.
