Because Jane accepts as normal the transformation of consciousness, peak experiences, trance mediumship. Along with OBE's precognitive dreams ect... as a regular part of the human experience. And she presents a framework for these experiences as they are viewed as valid in their own right.
They are neither good nor bad but only the Psyche dealing with its spiritual and creature- aspects of its nature. Jane uses different levels of cosmic consciousness to examine the nature of the psyche and its reality.
She starts from a conscious state. And then programs herself to shift reality and journey to other aspects of her psyche to view "reality" from that viewpoint. She also examines her own trance material and scrutinizes The Seth Material and Seth's reality as it appears in her experience.
In my opinion, this book is as important as any in the Seth Material. Because here we see Jane coping with living in multiple worlds all at once. And I love that she is as skeptical as anyone could be in her position. Plus she never stopped asking questions and neither should we.
