The Philippine Navy Naval Forces Northern Luzon forces conduct amphibious exercises PAGSISIKAP 2019 The Philippine Navy (PN) of the North Luzon Navy (NFNL) is currently conducting Fleet-Sea amphibious exercises dubbed "PAGSISIKAP" 2019.

In a statement Tuesday, the head of the PN public affairs office, Lieutenant Commander Maria Christina Roxas said the maneuvers at the Metropolitan Subic Bay Authority and around the Naval Education, Training and Documentation Command, Naval Station Leovigildo Gantioqui in Zambales began on Sunday and would begin runs until Friday.

The program began with an opening ceremony spearheaded by the guest of honor and speaker, the head of the North Luzon Command (Nolcom), Lieutenant General Ramiro Manuel A. Rey.

"This exercise focuses on the concept of Fleet-Sea operations to maintain the Armada-Sea unit's competence in planning and implementing Amphibian Operations and testing the concept of the Amphibian Task Group (ATG) and supporting the Philippine Navy Capability Development Plan," Rey said.

The head of Nolcom said that Civil-Military Operations and Public Relations activities would also be part of the exercise.

This is to support Nolcom's campaign drive to improve relations, cooperation and public trust in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Rey said this would improve relations with the community by showing the public their importance as AFP's main stakeholders.

The exercise will also focus on the concept of Operation Fleet-Sea with an emphasis on amphibious operations using amphibious attack vehicles in the Philippine Marine Corps with follow-up operations on the beach.

"The PN, through this exercise, aims to further develop a Fleet-Sea unit that is capable and competent in planning and carrying out amphibious operations in support of the Navy Capability Development Plan," Roxas added.

Participants in the exercise included 350 sailors, 160 marines and 70 reserves from the North Luzon Naval Reserve Center.

The Navy will use the landing dock platform recently acquired by BRP Davao Del Sur (LD-602), patrol escort ship, BRP Pangasinan (PS-31), special operations unit of the Philippine Marine Corps, AW 109 Naval Air Wing helicopter, helicopter Navy. SEAL Team and Navy Combat Engineering team.

The 2019 "PAGSISICAP" exercise was a fleet-sea amphibious exercise carried out by the PN to develop and achieve amphibious and credible forces and at the same time enable the Armada-Lautan forces to be more efficient in carrying out the mandated tasks.
