Suspect appears in court for Middletown teen's murder

Suspect appears in court for Middletown teen's murder MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) - A Middletown murder suspect is locked up on a one million dollar bond for the fatal shooting of a teenager.

Police say Mezahn Amison, 21, shot and killed Zachary Wallace, 16, in the area of Iglehart Street and Manchester Avenue on Dec. 6.

The two had been involved in an ongoing dispute. Police say Amison was driving through Middletown when he saw Wallace. He jumped out and shot the teen five times before getting away.

Wallace was rushed to the hospital but he died on Saturday.

Police arrested Amison in Trenton on Saturday. A 16-year-old from Cincinnati who police say was with Amison is charged with obstructing official business.

Amison also faces a tampering with evidence charge. It could be because police believe the tossed the gun after the shooting.

It appears the judge set such a high bond because Amison missed a court appearance on a minor charge.
