See the coming of Mrs. Gandhi's time, especially in the last 5 years of her tenure, the pattern of the Non-Aligned Movement had become very long, wide and rugged. And in it, there were all such countries which cannot be called non-aligned. But even in such a situation, she not only got India the name of a non-aligned nation but also persuaded people to accept it as a non-aligned nation.

I think that this achievement can be considered the greatest at that time because for the whole movement, neither it can be considered as their answer nor should it be known. But she kept the factional image of India intact.

Under Nehru's guidance, India became the first country to begin a policy that was new in the history of international relations – the policy of Non-Alignment, which was founded in 1961 in Belgrade and was ably supported by Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, President Sukarno of Indonesia and Joseph Broz Tito of Yugoslavia.
