The entertainment industry recently secured a major lifeline, after parliament decided to temporarily amend the noise abatement act to allow for events to go until 2am on weekdays and 4 am on weekends, over the Christmas and new years period. But with the establishment of entertainment zones taking a long time to come on stream do the temporary amendments make a real difference? Could the move be made permanent?
