Having the ability to actually defend yourself from a terrorist attack is a terrible and stupid thing. How can you actually be so dumb?"  Mr Wohl's tweet has sparked hundreds of replies, retweets and likes.  Flavia Young replied to Mr Wohl: "Are you kidding? If everyone had guns the attacker would have shot and killed many more people and the members of the public would not have managed to restrain him with their bare hands."  Twitter user @Cryptorookie24 replied: "But then the terrorists would have easier access to guns! With a gun they could kill multiple people before anyone reacts. Also why would they be scared they know they are going to die anyway when the police show up."  Hero bystanders bravely held down and disarmed the knifeman before he was shot by police. Several people pointed out how unlikely it was that the public would have been able to tackle the he had a gun. Read More London Bridge shooting  J.P. Gownder said Mr Wohl's tweet "wins the award for most offensive and asinine tweet of the day - against tough competition!"  Others pointed out how America's right to bare arms doesn't appear to be reducing the numbers of people killed in attacks.    Ciaran Cannon tweeted in reply: "That gun ownership policy you are touting is a roaring success. Your rate of murder or manslaughter by firearm is the highest in the developed world. Almost 11,000 of your people were the victims of murder or manslaughter involving a firearm........in 2017 alone."  Tony Robson said" "We're good with the police carrying the guns pal, thanks."  And Ali Tonkin agreed, writing: "And not even all of the police. Have to say, the firearms officers on duty today appeared to be quite an impressive group of individuals. Calm, totally in control.
