Butyl rubber is also known as polyisobutylene because it is a copolymer of isobutylene (95-99%)with small amount of isoprene (1-5%). Uses:-. 1- It is used in making Conveyor belt.
2- Also used in making hoses ( usually flexible tube)
3- Inner tubes of automobile tyres.
4- For insulation of high voltage wires and cables.
