The Five Roles that Great Leaders must undertake | Made to Thrive Welcome to video two in this series of 34 two-minute videos outlining the key concepts in my new book "Made To Thrive".
"Made To Thrive" outlines the five key roles that a leader must undertake to transition from being a good leader to being a great leader. In this series of 34 two-minute videos, I'm going to walk you through all of the key concepts and how you can use them to become more effective in your role as a leader.
Today we're talking about the five key roles that a leader must undertake.

Yesterday I outlined that every leader's challenge is how to be more effective and that the question leaders are asking is how can I make my potential count for the most in this world of effort and then we went on to discuss the results that great leaders achieve which we were A higher percentage of top performers, A higher retention rate. Higher productivity. Consistent growth and consistent results.

In the book, I identified the five key roles that leaders undertake that directly lead to those results.

Those five roles are accountability. Under a great leader, people completely understand what is expected of them. Results are transparent and consequences are clear.
Ambassador. Great leaders know that you can't be the head of the company without being the face.
Culture. By consciously building a culture that delivers on the needs of the right people, great leaders become a magnet for great talent.
Strategy. Great leaders rely on a strategic system and are focused on becoming unique and valuable within their industry and finally, Succession Planning. In order to create consistency, these great leaders build systems to ensure against people, products, customers or investments failing to perform.

With these five roles, the question then becomes how can you become more effective? How can you make your potential count for the most in this world of effort?

Tomorrow, we're gonna talk about the correlation between the results and the roles, we're gonna talk about the checklist and the assessment that's within the book and how you can identify the opportunities that you have to become more effective and we're gonna talk about where the magic happens.
