This was, to use a cliche, a rollercoaster of emotions - this stream ended up being a proper narrative arc: expectation of success, followed by a huge setback, followed by a struggle to clutch victory from the jaws of defeat. I'd like to thank those of you recommending these courses of action; you really made the difference between a huge failure, and a hugely useful venture.

One unfortunate element seemed to be people's unwillingness to look at the contexts of what we were trying to do. (if I had a pound for every time someone said 'use psychocat'). Perhaps it's a lesson to us; check the description first - quite often, it will answer whatever question you were going to ask.

Also, near the start, there's me complaining about C4F1's treatment and attitude towards a driver I like. Skip that bit if you want, but if you want to see me trying my best to not sound petty or ridiculous when describing something unquantifiable, that which nonetheless genuinely annoyed me, there it is for you.
