Getting Your Team to Make Decisions Without You

Here's a common question I see with small business owners:

"I feel like I'm great at delegating tasks, however I feel like I still have to make many decisions so that I'm not the bottleneck in my businesses because I'm the key decision maker. How can I successfully delegate decision making?"

First of all, make sure you are giving confidence to the people on your team to make those decisions. If you are always correcting those decisions they've made. They will start to feel they aren't capable to do it.

What I like to do is ask, "what do you think?" or "what would you do?"

Instead of answering, I want you to start helping them come up with answers The more you get them to make suggestions, the more confidence they'll build.

So, next time they ask a question, stop and ask those questions back. Soon you will feel really confident that you can move forward with their suggestions.
