Cindi Korman: Possessing Your Vessel - Spiritual Rebellion

Cindi Korman: Possessing Your Vessel - Spiritual Rebellion This class covers the topic of "Spiritual Rebellion." Further insight on this subject can be found in Chapter 4 of the book "Healing the Wounded Spirit," by John and Paula Sandford. Spiritual rebellion is experienced to some degree by everyone. It is the degree to which we reject the circumstances of our lives, our families, our gender, career or physical appearance. In our anger over these issues we are in some degree of rebellion against God and need to be reconciled in that area.

Psalms 51:6 “Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.”

Luke 8:17-18 “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.”

Ephesians 5:13-14 “But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light."

“It is time for the church to awaken from spiritual sleep and allow the light of Christ to shine in all our hidden parts to discover those things which block, and to shine on all our natural talents so that they may break forth to bring healing and wholeness to the body of mankind. As we pray for insight and wisdom to minister, and the Lord gives us a portion of insight, we are often too timid and fearful to take that first step. We may say, “I don’t know enough to pray…or…I don’t want to mess with somebody’s insides and hurt them more than they are already.”

While there is truth in both statements – we should be humble on the one hand and be careful about giving advice – there could be some fear on our part because we are afraid to risk. We need to understand that when we sit down to minister to one another we are not the healers – God is. We do not have to make anything happen – He will. We do not need the security of guaranteed success. He is the guarantee.”

Exodus 33
13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people."
14 And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
15 Then he said to Him, "If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.

“Thousands of times when John and I have prayed according to the glimmer of light the Lord has given, we have been overwhelmed with surprise and gratitude for the quality of the fruit that has resulted. Our responsibility is to listen to the Lord, respond to Him as best we can, and offer whatever He gives us as a door-opener to more. Our faltering prayer may be just that which will enable a faint aroma of the Lord to flow in so that the one for whom we pray will “taste and see” (Ps 34:8) and eventually fling wide the gates “that the King of Glory may come in” (Ps 24:9)! When we have been faithful over a little, He will set us over much, and not before. And it is a comfort to know that God is bigger than our mistakes.”

…in fifty cases of anorexia nervosa the most common single factor was the anorectic’s devotion to the idea of perfection. Gluttony, acquisitiveness and pleasure were cardinal sins. Guilt was to be played out by punishing the body mass…children who feel better off dead…are afraid of further loss of communication especially after the loss of a parent through death or divorce or when a parent becomes mentally disturbed.

Romans 6
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
