The Story of Avast Selling Users Browsing Data

The Story of Avast Selling Users Browsing Data Since 2015 Avast, AVG and CCleaner have all been giving away Users Internet browsing data to Marketing company Jumpshot, which is owned by Avast.
Jumpshot have then been selling the data (which can be de-anonymised) to Google, Microsoft, Amazon and other large retailers.

Jumpshot started life in 2012 as an anti-malware tool. It was then purchased by Avast, rebranded as Avast Cleanup, and then the name was re-used as the marketing arm for Avast.
