Non payment of salary: ASUP Lecturers demands all benefits in Edo. Coc
Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, (ASUP) Edo state Chapter has demands the non payment of their salaries and urges management of the institutions to pay up till date all benefit to the staffs that the institution is owning to enable them live as betters life like other lecturers in other institution in Nigerian.
The Lecturers made this known while addressing his members at Edo State Polytechnic, Usen as police barred the institution's lecturers from gaining access into the school premises for the election.
According to our correspondent jimoh ogirima report that, the lectures however decided to stay outside the gates to conduct their election because of police harassment.
The newly elected chairman of ASUP, Usen Poly chapter, Mr. Paul Aziegbemhin said the shutdown of the school gates against the lecturers was uncalled for, in an tertiary institution in Nigeria according to the law, you must have a governing council in place.
He said nowhere that the visioners of the Polytechnic even in the university sector actually has it in mind that somebody act as a sole administrator at the tertiary institution.

On her part the Head of Marketing department in Usen Poly HOD Omo Amen said before nw lecturers get access to the campus to conduct an election into different position of ASUP, in Usen Poly.
He added that the institutions must have their Union so that they will not be tie to the apron of government.
