Today’s Chicago Bears Rumors start with Cam Newton. Cam Newton to the Bears rumors have been swirling for awhile, but now there’s a new twist. Mark “Silvy” Silverman from the ‘Waddle & Silvy’ radio show in Chicago revealed that an anonymous Chiefs player told him that Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy doesn’t trust Mitch Trubisky and that the Bears will go after Cam Newton this offseason. Both Nagy and Bears’ GM Ryan Pace have publicly defended Trubisky and say that he’s the starting QB in 2020. Will the Bears pursue Cam Newton? Who is this anonymous Chiefs player? Chicago Bears Now host Harrison Graham tries to get to the bottom of this on today’s Bears Rumors show.
The Bears continue to back Trubisky which means they need to continue to invest around him. Could adding Emmanuel Sanders be an option? Sanders is set for NFL Free Agency and the 49ers may not be able to keep him. John DeFilippo believes he can help Mitch Trubisky this season as 2020 could be a make-or-break year for the Bears’ young QB. Trubisky will always be known as the guy the Bears drafted over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, but a big 2020 season could start to silence the critics.
