How well would I do in a survival situation? That's a question some us may have asked ourselves at one point or another.
Though some of you may think you'll be fine because you've watched Bear Grylls, in reality, an unfortunate situation could result in life or death, with minimal options to guarantee survival.
But today we're going to give you some little tips and tricks that could get you out of a dangerous situation.
Ranging from a technique to use if you ever come face to face with a shark, to a little hack that will help you stay hydrated if you're ever stranded on a deserted island,
We take a look at 10 survival hacks that could save your life.

Lost At Sea
This next tip might sound like it's straight from the Captain Jack Sparrow survival guide, but hear me out!
In 2012, Jose Ivan was washed up on a remote part of the Marshall Islands, in the Pacific Ocean. He survived 16 months by eating birds and fish. His biggest challenge was obtaining safe water to drink, as fresh rainwater on the island was rare.
What he did to stay hydrated was catch the slow-moving turtles on the shore, and drink their blood. Though it doesn't sound pleasant, turtle blood is a good source of protein, which gave him a much-needed source of nutrition, while also quenching his thirst.
So it's worth knowing useful things like this so if you're ever trapped somewhere all you have to do is look at for river's or lakes and try-catch yourself slow-moving animals.
It's a shame he never tried to tie a couple of the turtles together with the hair off his back to escape, if it worked for Captain Jack, right?

Super Glue a Wound
We use super glue to fix all sorts of things around the house, but what if I said you could use it to close a deep wound?
Yes it would sting, yes it would irritate and damage the skin around the injury, but it could just save you from bleeding out and infection getting into it and possibly save your life.
Of course, if you are in reach of actual medical treatment, get yourself to the emergency room and get some first aid, instead of going to the hardware store and administering yourself with Gorilla Glue and an aspirin.

Express Elevator
In an emergency, you do not want to use the elevator. But what if the emergency breaks out, while you are in one?
Or maybe the stairs are blocked by a threat like fire or a dangerous person, and you have no other choice?
Well, there is a handy little hack that emergency services use,
All you have to is, when you get in, Hold the close door button until the doors close, but keep holding the button
Then Select your floor and do not let go of the number and close door button until the elevator moves.
This will allow you to go directly to your floor without stopping.

Never Turn Your Back On a Shark
We've all seen Jaws, but that doesn't stop us going back into the water.
Would you know how to survive against a shark attack if you were unlucky enough ever to be in that situation? Well, Shark attacks are super rare, but as we all know, they do happen and it's always best to be prepared by knowing information that could be the deciding factor between life and death.
The most important tip is to remember is never to turn your back on a shark, and always keep eye contact, stare it down. Studies show that sharks know when your back is turned, and use the blind spot to launch their attack. So do not swim away with your back turned, swim while facing it.
Leading scientists have proven that keeping eye contact will dissuade them from attacking, as they have evolved to hunt from blind spots of their pray!

Easy Zip Tie / Cable Tie Hack
Cable ties or Zip ties are commonly used by law enforcement around the world to restrain people. They're cheaper than handcuffs and almost as effective,
unfortunately, criminals also use them, so if you ever find yourself in a life-threating situation and restrained by cable ties, then there's a little hack that could help you escape,
when bound at the wrists our natural instinct is to try wiggle our way out them, this just causes pain and sores,
instead, raise your arms high over your head and then throw them down in front of you while spreading your hands apart, this should cause the cable ties to pop apart,
and surprisingly it requires very little force, and this hack will leave some marks on your wrists but that's a small price to pay for freedom.
