This is the Eighth episode in an 11 part series on the making of this custom guitar. This is a design that I have named the Chimera, and it is entirely my own design that I chose to go with because I had not made a "double cut" guitar before. This build was also intended as a challenge to myself to build a very complex guitar, both in terms of construction (neck-through with separate top) and electronics (piezo bridge that can be blended with the magnetic pickups, and a coil-tap toggle for the humbuckers). This episode covers fretwork, and making the trussrod cover.
The top is Quilted Maple, the neck is 3 piece Jatoba and Wenge, the body wings are Walnut, and the fretboard is Snakewood.
The pickups are Lace Alumitone in the neck position, and Lace Deathbucker in the bridge position.
