JNU Violence: Swara Bhaskar Appeal Delhitees to Gather At Large Number Outside JNU Campus Against ABVP Rampage by

ABVP members barged into JNU hostels, attacked students with sticks, claims JNUSU
The JNUSU has alleged that the attack was orchestrated by RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

tudents at the Sabarmati and other hostels of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have allegedly been attacked. The university's students' union, JNUSU, has claimed that some "masked" persons entered the JNU's Sabarmati and other hostels and thrashed the students with sticks and rods on Sunday.

The students' union has alleged that the attack was orchestrated by the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). The JNUSU has alleged that ABVP "goons" pelted stones and also vandalised the property at the Sabarmati hostel.

JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh and General Secretary Satish Chandra Yadav have also injured in the attack, as per the videos and images surfaced on social media. Aishe Ghosh was seen bleeding from the head in photos and videos that surfaced on social media.

"I have been brutally attacked by goons wearing masks. I have been bleeding. I was brutally beaten up," Aishe Ghosh was quoted as saying by ANI.

Some on social media have claimed that the attack was over the hostel fee hike and the boycott of the registration ahead of the semester exams.

The ABVP has, however, alleged that the members of the organisation, too, have been attacked on the university's hostels by the All India Students Association (AISA), Students' Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Students Federation (DSF).

In a statement, ABVP said, "The ABVP members at the JNU have been attacked by people affiliated with the AISA, DSF and AISA. At least 15 students have been injured...Students at various hostels of the JNU have been attacked. The people belonging to the Left organisations have broken the windows.".

Fresh Violence Erupts in JNU as Masked Mob Attacks Students' Union President, Prof with Rods; Many Injured
According to information, the incident took place during a march in the varsity around 5pm when masked individuals with rods entered Sabarmati hostel.

A video showed blood dripping from Ghosh's head after she was ruthlessly thrashed. "I've been brutally attacked by those who were masked. I don't know, I have been bleeding. I am not even in a condition to talk. I was brutally beaten up," the JNUSU president said, following which she was rushed to a hospital. A professor, Sucharita Sen, has also been admitted to AIIMS with head injury.

In a statement, the Students' Union alleged that "ABVP had been attacking students who are peacefully protesting against massive fee hike in JNU".

Some students claimed that DUSU president from ABVP, Satender Awana, was also seen on the campus.

Countering JNUSU's claims, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad put out images alleging that "leftist goons proceeded with unimaginable violence on ABVP activists of JNU".

Emergency in JNU. Leftist goons of JNU accompained with their cadre from other universities have crossed every limit. They have proceeded with unimaginable violence on ABVP activists of JNU.

On Saturday, the Jawaharlal Nehru University administration had said that students agitating over the hike in hostel fees "ransacked" the server room and "intimidated" the technical staff, hampering the semester registration process.

But JNUSU said the administration used "masked" security guards to attack students. "They were shamefully wearing masks. JNUSU president was openly slapped by one of the security guards," alleged the students' union, which has called for a boycott of the process over the increase in hostel fees
