2. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to India, scheduled next week, has been cancelled. "Both sides have decided to defer the visit to a mutually convenient date in the near future," the foreign ministry said.

Amid the outrage in the Parliament over Rahul Gandhi's 'rape in India' remark, the Congress leader on Friday refused to apologise on his statement, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to divert the attention from the protests in northeast. Gandhi further said that he has a clip in phone in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be seen calling Delhi a 'rape capital'.
