I attended Handel's Messiah in Orlando. The words and music speak of the comfort of the Messiah who enters into our sufferings.
My question for today is: Have you ever been to a Handel’s Messiah concert? Did it impact your life?
Written 278 years ago, the oratorio begins with words from Isaiah, "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people", establishing the tone of speaking to the heart of the listener. God knows your needs and He cares. His desire is to comfort you.
As I listened to the music, my heart was touched. Jesus, the promised Messiah, who is the Light of the world, broke into our darkness. His love was such, He was acquainted with griefs, He knew our sorrow, and He triumphed over our hopelessness when He rose from the grave.
Jesus knows you. He knows your every flaw, your heartbreak and your sorrows. He loves you and He cares for you.
Hope welled within my heart as I listened. One day the trumpet will sound, the dead in Christ shall rise incorruptible! No more sin, no more sorrow. We will be pure like our beloved Lord Jesus. Worthy is the Lamb!
Call to Action: Take time to listen to Handel's Messiah. Moody radio will present it Dec 15th at 3 p.m. If you are able, go to a concert and just be present in the moment as you listen. Give thanks for the Messiah has come, He is Hope. May He fill you with Hope.
