Diagonal 24g Floor Sanding (4|21)

Even though it's the first cut on the floor, with very coarse grit sandpaper, it's more than necessary to start with a diagonal cut. As you will see, even cutting across the grain on the first cut, doesn't get the floor flat and smooth in a hurry.
