Pete Buttigieg (‘Boot Edge Edge’)is leading the Democratic field in the latest Iowa poll. I saw him speak for an hour in Providence on Sunday at a grassroots fundraiser. A quick video I took is below where he talks about how the presidency is for ALL citizens, no matter if they agree on just certain policies - or disagree on everything. He is currently the mayor of South Bend, IN. One thing he said that I loved, “When you’re the mayor of a city, your job is to get everything done with the budget you have. A mayor can’t just print money.”
Educated at Harvard and Oxford, a US Veteran previously deployed to Afghanistan, worked for McKinsey, speaks 8 languages. He’s 38 which is a damn breath of fresh air. His policies are based on the simple fact that government’s job is to make its citizens’ lives better. He’s eloquent and has a quick wit. He had us cracking up several times - and not with Trump jokes. After you hear him, you’re like, “Hey Pete, when you’ve got some time after you’re done campaigning, I was thinking we should be best friends.” He’s that guy.
