✍  House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy slammed Democrats and their ongoing efforts in a “permanent campaign to undermine” President Trump.  The California Republican spoke to his colleagues in the House of Representatives on Thursday as lawmakers were poised to vote to formalize the procedures of the impeachment inquiry into the president, a resolution that later passed with a vote of 232-196, with Reps. Collin Peterson from Minnesota and Jeff Van Drew from New Jersey reportedly voting against their Democratic colleagues.  McCarthy had noted earlier that Democrats “are trying to impeach the president because they are scared they can’t defeat him at the ballot box.”  On the House floor, the GOP leader reiterated his point on the “sham” impeachment process.  McCarthy called out the lawmakers for “not working for the American people,” as critical legislation is being tabled in favor of chasing down “more subpoenas than laws.”  “It is not just devoid of solutions for the American people ...
