Have you ever started a new fitness program (diet, weight loss, aerobics, conditioning, etc) only to give it up after a couple of weeks? Have you ever been on a diet and said the phrase “I can’t wait until this diet is over” or “I can’t wait to eat ____ when I finish this diet”?

That’s the goal of my video today - I want to share with you 5 of the simplest diet and exercise tips that you can do right now today to help you live a healthier life. These definitely aren’t complicated - no outrageous diet or extreme workout plan - rather simple choices that you can make every single day to enjoy more health, more energy, and a happier state overall.

5 SIMPLE TIPS TO LIVE A HEALTHIER LIFE

(3:07) TIP #1: GIVE UP REFINED SUGAR.
The whole premise of sugar is that it makes food tase better so you eat more so you buy more. Women should only have 20 grams sugar per day; males 25 grams.
Sugar that our bodies don’t burn is stored in our bodies as fat.
So go to your pantry and refrigerator and throw out your cookies, brownies, cakes, etc. After you do that - just don’t buy any more! If there’s none in your house there’s none in your diet!

(4:45) TIP#2: DON’T DRINK YOUR CALORIES (NO SODA, DIET SODA, OR ALCOHOL).
Calories that are in liquids and beverages are empty calories. There’s not enough sustenance to elicit a stomach stretch reflex to signal your brain that you’re full.
There’s way too much sugar in them and you simply don’t need that! The average 12 ounce can has approximately 150 calories and up to 30-40 grams of sugar. Even diet soda is filled with chemicals and artificial sweeteners that are more difficult for your body to digest.
Eliminate sodas and alcohol from your diet and watch the change take place!

(7:01) TIP #3: GET 30 MINUTES OF ACTIVITY EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Move your body for 30 minutes most days of the week. It might be a walk around the block, a bike ride with your kids, or even walking up and down the stairs for 15 minutes twice a day. It’s one of the easiest things you can do to live a healthier life.

(8:05) TIP #4: STOP EATING AFTER 9 PM (OR TWO HOURS BEFORE BEDTIME).
You have to give your body time to burn the calories you consume before you dive right into bed. If you don’t give your body time to burn the calories you eat then it will store that energy as fat.

(9:12) FIVE SERVINGS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Fruits and vegetables are nature’s superfoods and much less dense calorically. Think about it - how mush is 100 calories of a cookie or brownie? Now how much is 100 calories of spinach or an apple? You get to eat a lot more food for a lot less calories therefore making you feel fuller longer.
