Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim discussed with the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the overall political and security situation in Iraq and the region.
He called on the Minister al-Hakim, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, which received (Euphrates News) a copy, to work jointly to resolve the regional problems in the region to achieve peace in the region, and stability.
He pointed out that Iraq reinforces the Arab League's directives to coordinate efforts and unify opinions to ease tensions, meet challenges, and provide opportunities for security and combat terrorism.
He stressed that the Arab League should undertake to urge countries to fulfill their pledges announced at the conference on the reconstruction of Iraq in Kuwait.
