BREXIT: Tusk taunts Boris Johnson over threats, 'You want to go down in history as Mr NO DEAL?'

European Council President Donald Tusk says he will not cooperate with the UK on a no-deal Brexit and Boris Johnson will not want to go down in history as Mr 'No Deal'.

Speaking at the start of the G7 summit of world leaders in the French seaside town of Biarritz, Mr Tusk said the European Union was "willing to listen to ideas that are operational, realistic and acceptable to all EU member states, including Ireland".

At his first international summit since being appointed prime minister in July, Mr Johnson will also hold discussions with EU Council President Donald Tusk.

Mr Tusk said Brussels is ready and willing to sit down with Mr Johnson to prevent the UK crashing out of the bloc.

He said: “The EU will be ready to hold serious talks with PM Johnson. One thing I will not cooperate on is no deal and I do hope PM Johnson will not want to go down in history as Mr No Deal.”

He said the bloc would listen to ideas which are realistic and acceptable to all member states.
