Teen girl, 18, dies while tubing with friends on an Idaho river An 18-year-old girl has died while tubing with friends on an Idaho river after she got caught in a log jam and was dragged into the rapids. Taylor Paige Smith was with three friends when she drowned after being thrown from her tube on the Boise River in American Falls on the afternoon of July 13. Authorities said the incident occurred in a fast moving, remote section of the river. A witness called 911 after spotting Smith and the three others encounter a log jam that spanned the entire stretch of the river while they were floating on their tubes. She was a bundle of energy who loved people, makeup, dancing and sunflowers,' her family wrote in her obituary.  'She came into the world with a love for dancing which she used as a cheerleader (where she was known as an amazing flyer) from junior high on through high school. Her small body housed a big heart filled with empathy and charity for others. 'She loved spending time with her family and friends and brought great joy to those who were blessed with her presence.
