Filmmakers rarely give audiences women in positions of power. In Made in Dagenham (2010), a biographical drama based on the true story of the Ford machinists who went on strike and fought for equal pay in 1968, Miranda Richardson plays Secretary of State Barbara Castle. This is one of a few scenes in which she is shown at work. Made in Dagenham scores very well for women’s presence and voice. I do not own the rights to this video.
