The Association of Public Policy Analysts APPA has accused the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC of frustrating reforms in the power sector. The President of the Association Princewill Okorie in a briefing with newsmen in Abuja says that NERC is infringing on the competitive rights of independent electricity distributors, despite several ministerial directives to operate according to laid down power regulations as enshrined in the electricity distribution act.
Mr Princewill also accused the electricity regulation body of attempting to create a monopoly within the industry, thereby shunning justice and fairness in the distribution of power across the country.
