9 Souls (2003) - Japanese Movie Review

9 Souls (2003) - Japanese Movie Review Erik, the Asian Movie Enthusiast presents:

A review of “9 Souls”, a Japanese drama from 2003 that was directed by Toshiaki Toyoda. Just recently, I’ve reviewed two other Toyoda films on this channel – “Tokyo Rampage” and “Blue Spring.” “9 Souls” is another one of his films that is easy to find, so I figured I would review that one too.

The plot goes something like this. Nine convicts escape from prison; most are convicted murders. They commandeer a van from a strip club. Their plan is to find a stash of counterfeit money that a deranged cell mate told them about, divide it, then part ways. They make it to the site where the money is supposed to be hidden, and then one by one, each seeks out the place he wants to be, a version of home, somewhere to connect. Will it end well for them?

This is another very good film from this director that is worth watching.
